Transmission Test Facility

Chrysler’s Transmission development facility is a one-stop-shop for all of your transmission testing needs. With the combined services offered by our garage and the laboratory areas, we are able to build and test a transmission to our customer’s specifications. Other services we provide include instrumentation of the transmission and vehicle, record road test data, complete teardowns, inspection, and measurement services. Our knowledge and testing experience allows the customer to gain speed and efficiency in the development of the final product.

Torque Converter Services

Our staff has the capability to test torque converters in any combination of speed/torque control loops. Utilizing special lathes and welders, torque converters can be cut open, repaired and welded back together.

Dynamometer Services

We offer dynamometers capable of spin testing transmissions and components in a variety of applications.

Environmental Test Services

Our test facility can spin test transmissions in a variety of installation angles at cryogenic to elevated temperatures.

• Test stand pitch angle ( +/- 40 Degrees)
• Roll angle +/- 45 degrees
• Test units from ( -55/+300° Fahrenheit)
• Hot/cold chamber testing
• Hot incline/decline testing

Valve Body Services

Our valve body test stand can diagnose valve body problems by pressurizing valve bodies and actuating solenoids in a stand alone mode.

Linkage and Life Test Services

Our facility can run durability tests and test-to-failure on automatic transmission clutches in heated oil or ambient conditions, on manual transmission shift linkages and on transmission assemblies.

Fabrication Services

The Transmission lab has a fully capable machine shop that can be used to fabricate many parts associated with custom build-ups and testing.

Our facility has the capability to provide high magnification imagery and coordinate measurement of powertrain components.

With the capability to remove transmissions from vehicles, do workbench teardowns for inspection and repair and then reinstall the transmission on a vehicle, our transmission testing facility is a one-stop-shop for all powertrain needs.
