The Scientific Labs Impact Test and Photo Imaging Facility conducts all Federal, European, International and ratings crash tests using both full and partial vehicles, as well as providing photographic services using digital stills, high-speed digital imagers and video tools.

Fabrication Facility

Our Services include machining, welding, and grinding areas can fabricate unique prototype parts using Metals, Wood, Plastic and Fiberglass.  On location fabrication facilities allows us to modify test properties on the spot.

Impact Simulator

Comprises 15,000 sq. ft. Maximum thrust capacity - 300,000 lbs, thrust durations from 15 to 200 milliseconds, thrust column travel - 5 feet. The simulator can accommodate a 5,000 lb payload - up to 30 G - approximately 55 mph.

  • Test dummies for each type of test are available with standard and additional development instrumentation

Anthropomorphic Test Device (Dummy) Lab

Over 150 dummies in inventory, including 50th male, 95th male, 5th female, SID H3, SID IIIs  (C and D), EuroSid -2 and -2re, and Child ATD’s (CRABI 12 month, 3-, 6-, 10-year old, European P.1.5, P.3, P.6, P.10)

Vehicle Component Safety Test Facility

Our Vehicle Safety Engineering Laboratory utilizes state-of-the-art test equipment to conduct development and certification tests that are required to design Chrysler vehicles that comply with the FMVSS-200 series Federal safety regulations and their foreign counterparts.  In addition to domestic and foreign mandatory safety requirements, these laboratory test fixtures are also used to meet ever increasing voluntary safety targets established by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), Federal and European New Car Assessment Programs (NCAP), and other agencies.

Two fully equipped Vehicle Test Cells designed for tests requiring an airbag deployment have the capability of running the required FMVSS208 Fifth Female Driver, 3 and 6 Year Old Out of Position and Rear Facing Infant Seat Test Series.
