Emission and Fuel Economy Certification Testing
Emission Measurement and Testing
Chrysler offers two emission testing labs: one at the Chrysler Technology Center (CTC) in Auburn Hills, MI and the other at the Proving Grounds (CPG) in Chelsea, MI. Within the two locations there are sixteen emission test cells with two-wheel-drive 48" electric dynamometers and two emission test cells with four-wheel-drive (4WD) 48" electric dynamometer. One of the 4WD dynamometer cells is an altitude capable test cell at CTC with environmental capability that can run gasoline and diesel emission testing.

- Bulk EPA, Bulk California, Alcohol fuels including E85
- Cold CO fuel and Ultra low sulfur
- 55 gal drum dispensing and temperature control
Parasitic Loss Dynamometer
Brake, Transmission and Axle parasitic are tested by installing a Vehicle on the Parasitic Loss Dyno, measuring the power required to spin the wheels then removing components and repeating the test. Subtracting condition B from condition A gives the parasitic loss of the component removed.
