Measurement and Testing Services

The Advanced Metrology Group offers specialized measurement equipment that can provide hard-to-find analysis capabilities including the non-contact white-light scanning and surface finish analysis.   We also offer statistical process control template generation and management within the eCMM system and Reverse Engineering. Our programming staff specializes in automotive inspection and analysis, particularly powertrain components, body components, and vehicle interiors.

Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Program Creation

  • We offer small and large part inspection runs.
  • We can accommodate a large variety of sizes and materials, from full-sized trucks to very small powertrain components.
  • We offer Zeiss, Brown and Sharpe, Leitz, DEA, and LK CMMs, using standard or scanning probes, and laser scanning heads.
  • We offer our services in both offline (CAD based) and online programming methods.

Reverse Engineering / Point Cloud Analysis Services

  • Using the output from our scanning and white-light / blue – light measurement devices, we offer full point cloud analysis, best fitting to CAD models, what-if analysis, cutting of sections, and data manipulation.

Specialized Inspection Services

The Advanced Metrology Group has an impressive collection of specialized measurement equipment that can provide hard-to-find analysis capabilities.

  • We offer high accuracy inspection of round parts (cams, crankshafts, etc), complete with graphical plotting of results.
  • The Advanced Metrology Group can perform surface finish analysis and evaluation by employing our Wyco surface finish tools.
  • Gear inspection and analysis (spur, bevel, involute, helical, spline, hob) complete with graphical printout.
  • Using our Cognitens white-light device or Atos blue –light devise, we offer non-contact inspection of materials and work pieces that are impossible to measure via normal contact-based measurement methods.
  • For portable inspection of body-in-white, chassis, and vehicle interiors, we offer flexibility via our portable articulating Faro measurement arms.
  • Torque studies using our Bolt-mic tool.
  • Sealing analysis using pressure sensitive material (Fuji film).
  • Visual analysis via a completely upgraded optical comparator
